Kindergarten Registration

Dear Parent/Guardian,
If you have a student who will be five on or before September 15, 2019 now is the time to start thinking about kindergarten!
Our building will be hosting Kindergarten Sign-Up on April 10 from 3:30-6:30 PM. This event is for the younger siblings of any current students. Each family needs to provide the documents below to complete your student’s kindergarten sign-up. If you do not complete this at the building prior to July 14, 2019, you will have to come to the Welcome Center to add your younger student before doing Online Registration for the 2019-20 school year.
• Birth Certificate
• Immunization Record
• Photo ID
• Proof of Address which should be one of the following:
o Current utility bill or confirmation of services
o Current lease or purchase agreement
o Recent notarized letter from landlord or home owner
o Recent mortgage statement
o Polk County Assessors web page verifying ownership
o Recent property tax statement
o Recent vehicle registration
o Recent DHS paperwork
For your convenience if your student is a current DMPS Preschool student the registration staff will come to your student’s school to assist with this registration process before the April 10 date. The above documents will be needed to complete your registration then.
Any family new to the district will need to attend kindergarten sign-up at the DMPS Welcome Center. Starting February 11, 2019, you may reserve your spot by bringing the above documents to the Welcome Center located at 2100 Fleur Drive. That office is available Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM to assist with kindergarten sign-up.
Both of these options are an opportunity for you to reserve your student’s spot in our 2019-2020 kindergarten class.
